Putting the Garden to Rest in Arizona
Hey guys and gals!!! Thought upon you Sandi and remembered I needed to wish you a very Happy Independence Day! I don't know why I didn't see this post, but I am super excited to see it. Have a wonderful evening everyone!
I've found the non-stick surface to be prone to chips and peeling. I think it works best for broth or hard-boiled eggs only.
Growing potatoes in raised beds for first time. Cut my plants in half last week thanks to your previous comments with the other homesteaders video. Thanks!
wow would have never thought of mixing garlic and apples together
Thank you!
Ok, cutting my potato vines
The Ohio state puzzles do the same thing my daughter told me! They do that on purpose! I love my glass heart magnet beautiful one!! It has truly blessed my new home to me🥰🥰💙💙
Interesting.
Oh no Sandi! I have 4 puzzles I haven’t open yet.
Working on the next puzzle, hope this one is fine.
Hello! Is yor screen metal or fiberglass? Here in COSprings, I am trying ANY method to keep our garden alive!!! Thank You!
I bet this would go great on a pork roast!
Bee swarm simulator irl lol
I love well spiced food too. Awesome💖
This looks interesting. I had never thought to put apples and garlic together. Thank you for sharing.
Really need to use gloves and don't eat rhubarb leaves because rhubarb leaves are toxic!
I have never heard of this looks amazing
Awesome video good luck
Yummmmm
😋 yummy garden tomatoes, look delicious
Those look awesome
I'm waiting, won't make the deadline. Congratulations!
Good for you. I'm jealous. Good job !!!!
You are so talented!!
Now talk about interesting combinations lol this sounds so interesting and I love garlic🥰🥰🥰
You are amazing 😊
Hey Sandi… it’s going to be fun… happy growing 🥰🥰
Always LOVE seeing your new apple seedlings! Sending lots of love your way and a wonderful upcoming Independence Day! 🌱b🥰
Same to you! Thank you so much!
Your jam is beautiful and I bet very tasty. This is a big garlic household and this sounds very good. Thank you so much for sharing.
I started a bunch of apples from seed and plan to try to graft them onto my crabapple trees. I've grafted some peaches that germinated in the compost pile onto my little plum trees which was pretty cool.
Very cool!!!!
Boy I wish I lived in an area where I could grow apples.
I do love apple trees. Gordon, Anna, Beverly Hills, Golden Dorsett, and Ein Shemer apple trees tend to thrive in Arizona's climate.
Thank you for mentioning all the options. I like the idea of leaving a portion of it chunky.
Thank you Dawn
I love this! All of my lettuce has bolted or wilted in this heat. I plan to plant more. I definitely want to try this soup!
You should! YAY!!!
I'm glad I caught the group live today. Thank you for looking in the Herbal book to see if Cleavers were listed. I appreciate that. I'm hesitant to just take information from various channels because I've seen people misidentify plants and that makes me nervous.
Your instructions were so helpful and easily explained. I have not made one yet but I’m planning to soon!! I think yours is beautiful Thanks again
This is a must for any pork dish! Thank you for the video.
That looks sooooo delicious! I'll definitely make some if/when I see any discounted lettuce. Sadly, I don't grow any. My husband cooks delicious stir frys and occasionally cooks an amazing stir fried lettuce with Oyster Sauce. He uses Iceberg lettuce. Thank you for the recipe! x 🇬🇧
I think lettuce in stir fry is amazing
good idea, even i would eat this but with chicken broth no milk
great idea with chicken broth
This has my mouth watering for some grilled pork chops, this jam placed on the meat at the very end like you said. Thanks so much for this idea.
Your video is a gentle reminder that, even in the darkest moments, there's a light within us that can guide us toward healing.
Thank you
Hello Sandy, I love that your making lettuce soup. My mom use to cook the lettuce too. We always grew red potatoes. it is a good soup. Yours looks so good. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓
Thanks NonnaGrace
Very cool. Great way to use up lettuce that's starting to loose it's youthful vigor.
I totally agree.
Great idea! Sometimes it ends up going bad and this is good to also make use of it. Thank you!
So true!
Wow, never thought of using lettuce as a soup I’m gonna give it a try. Thanks, Sandy.
Wow sounds good. I had a friend years ago that made soup out of celery tops. Creamy too and it was great!!! She won a contest to with it.
That is awesome!
Afternoon
Good Afternoon!!!
Instead of putting pebbles or chunks of stuff in the bottom of your pot for drainage, mix chicken grit, pumice (if you can afford it) or some other drainage material all through the soil so that it resembles a very rich cactus soil. Also. let your soil dry out until it only has enough moisture to settle the dust. This dry soil will sift down and fill in between the roots much better. An old book once told me that for every three leaves the bulb sends up during the growing season, the bulb will send up one flower stalk. Another old trick is when the growing season ends, lay the pot on its side under the benches, so that no water can get into the pot. (The author kept his bulbs in his greenhouse all year long.) He never removed them from their pots until they broke the pots with their roots, but before started his plants into bloom, he would scrape away the inch or so of soil from the top of the pot and replace it with a rich top dressing like the one you use.
I have red bell peppers that have been in seedling mode for 2 months.
Picked up a few tips on your replay. Thank you Sandy.
